ntl:Telewest Business is a major communications provider in
the UK, and as such we're in constant interaction with other
telecoms operators both nationally and across the globe,
both in a technical sense (physical interconnection), and in a
business capacity (commercial agreements, pricing, legal
issues and general negotiations).
The Interconnection Team at ntl:Telewest
Business is dedicated to and responsible for the procurement and
commercial management of all third party voice interconnection
contracts, alongside access & backbone services. We're involved
with the day to day management of contractual and commercial
relationships with third party suppliers. Within these
relationships we're constantly seeking to broaden choice and ensure
the best quality for all of our customers. The three main areas of
responsibility are:
Voice
We're responsible for the key buying decisions
concerning interconnection with various telecoms companies,
nationally and globally. We seek the most competitive deals
concerning price and quality with a view to supplying solutions to
support our voice portfolio of products which include International
mobile calls, Personal Number services, fixed landlines, and
operator services.
Access
We constantly strive to achieve the best
connectivity through new, (and the expansion of current) access
solutions to interconnect third party suppliers with our network.
We also support consumer and business growth through products such
as IP & Broadband services, Wholesale Ethernet and Leased Line
services.
In liaising with local telecoms operators to
deliver services to end users on a national level, we can offer our
customers the best products with a balance of service quality and
price.
Data
On the data side, we are constantly
seeking the best levels of interconnection for our customers based
on speed & competitive rates for data transfer. We aim to offer
our customers a choice of connectivity to multiple Tier 1 global
internet carriers and are constantly scanning the market for the
best solutions for our customers.
