Next generation services made available to local businesses

The imminent upgrades to our network in the Newcastle area will provide next-generation services to local businesses. The new network comprises of 160 fibre pairs added to key hubs in and around the city of Newcastle.

The new ring, valued at £400,000, provides dedicated capacity for ntl:Telewest Business customers. These are some of the fastest and most sophisticated communications services available in the UK. The upgrades for Newcastle are part of nationwide enhancements to the ntl:Telewest Business next generation communications network.

As well as higher capacity and improved speeds, Newcastle businesses benefit from a uniquely customer-centric mindset when engaging ntl:Telewest Business  to deliver communications services. This includes access to dedicated support teams to provide local service everywhere, combining the capabilities of a nationwide NGN with an open, collaborative can-do approach.

“This upgrade responds to demands for faster, better quality communications services now, not in years to come. The network features separate maintenance chambers that meet our commitment to business resilience, and our reach extends beyond the core backbone to the last mile, with fibre optic links in every street on our network,” said Alan Worthing, Regional Sales Manager for ntl:Telewest Business in the North East.

“We are experiencing a huge increase in demand for these more flexible next generation services and already have businesses waiting to take advantage of this increased capacity. Our biggest customer in the area, Newcastle City Council, advised us on their needs from the outset and we collaborated accordingly, working closely together to ensure we met their requirements,” added Mr Worthing.
